There was tension in Kozani, outside the Exhibition Center of Macedonia, before the speech of Alexis Tsipras at the Regional Congress, on Wednesday.
Public Power Corporation trade unionists, who had gathered at this point, collided with riot police, resulting in tension for a long time.
The union members gathered there tried to break the police cordon and approach the Exhibition Center and while police forces withdrew, there was "fighting" among them.
A little earlier, trade unions appeared carrying a coffin outside the Exhibition Center, expressing their protest about developments in the PPC.
Police officers attempted to arrest a protester. Following the consultations with police officers, the officers eventually decided to release the man, but he is expected to be charged.
According to local media, the members of the PPC Workers' Union "Spartacus" proceeded to this move protesting that "the Prime Minister's presence is" burying "the PPC, the region and any development prospects, today."
