Leadership elections for new center-left party to be held on Nov. 5 and 12

Elections to select the leadership of the new center-left coalition currently being formed between centrist and center-left opposition parties in Greece will be held on November 5 and 12, a committee discussing the issue decided on Wednesday, according to information.
The date and details of the election will be officially announced on Friday. According to the same sources, those interested in submitting their candidacy will have to collect 1,000 signatures from seven regions of the country and pay a fee of 2,000 euros to participate.
The deadline for submitting a candidacy will probably be September 8 and for submitting the signatures, September 24. Candidates will have to declare that they accept the conditions set by the committee and that they will participate in the procedures of the party?s founding conference regardless of the outcome.
