The Hellenic Confederation of Professionals, Craftsmen & Merchants (GSEVEE) has sounded the alarm regarding the potential loss of a large volume of jobs in the immediate future in a report it released.
According to the findings of the paper, there is a high risk of 38.1% businesses folding over the next months, resulting in the likely loss of 21,000 job positions in the private sector.
The data published showed that approximately 13,000 small and medium-sized businesses are expected to shut down, a development that will lead to thousands of jobs being lost.
The consolidation of high tax burdens (a rise in the tax advance, VAT, special fees and the tax coefficient to 29%) accompanied by the accumulation of debts, have negatively impacted businesses in the private market, the report stresses.
