Domestic terrorist executioner gets two days leave from prison
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Opposition politicians and a large segment of the public have become outraged by the decision of the competent Council of Korydallos Prison to grant a two-day leave of absence to Dimitris Koufodi, who was sentenced to 11 times life imprisonment as a key member and executioner of the terrorist organization "November 17".
Koufodina swas given the leave of absence early on Thursday morning .
Koufodinas surrendered to authorities on 5 September 2002, stating that he assumed political responsibility for 17N's action.
The organization that started off by executing former junta torturers, began murdering politicians, publishers, prominent businessmen, and foreign mission members, and in one instance killed an unsuspecting passer by.
One of the victims was aanti-junta activist Pavlos Bakoyannis, husband of prominent New Democracy MP Dora Bakoyannis, and brother in law to current ND leade Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Understandably the main opposition party is irate.
