Road collapses in Agios Ioannis, Pelion
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The earth opened up, on Saturday afternoon in Agios Ioannis, in Pelion, destroying a portion of the coastal road and making the passage of pedestrians and vehicles dangerous.
It all began with the new wave of bad weather that occurred in the area with strong rains and strong winds. The waves at the point reached a height of three meters.
In the early afternoon, as reported by TheNewspaper.gr, it gradually began to erode the soil and undermine the pavement it was supporting, resulting in an hour later in the collapse of the road Fortunately, due to the weather conditions there was no injury to residents.
The works renovating the road and the pavement in Agios Ioannis is relatively recent and responsibility for the collapse should be sought.
