Korydallos prison becomes detention center
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Greece has been turning Korydallos prison into a pretrial detention center since May, said Justice Minister Stavros Kontonis on Tuesday.
Responding to criticism over the transfer of convicted terrorist to prisons out of Athens, the minister said that equating their transfer to another jail with a reduction in their sentence is unacceptable.
"Suddenly we have attacks domestically and unfortunately from abroad, that do not take into account the Justice Ministry's announcements but the information that is being offered from certain groups. I would like to highlight for one more time that Greece is a justice state and the laws are applied for all without exception and discrimination," he told radio station Sto Kokkino Thessaloniki.
