"Greece has made it. Three years later, it is part of the solution and not the problem. This is a success of the Greek people," Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said on Tuesday addressing the Europarliament.
"The institutions' insistence on strict fiscal adjustment led Greece to suffocation," he said.
The Greek prime minister stressed that the country has now exited the memoranda, it has restored its economic sovereignty and the position it deserves.
"Now we are looking to the future with optimism," he underlined.
"Greece's exit from the last fiscal adjustment programme does not mean a return to the past. The end of the memoranda is a historic moment.
