- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The second round of demolitions of illegal buildings in Attica started on Monday with the tearing down of a beach bar operated by a hotel on the beach of Anavyssos.
According to the environment and energy ministry, the execution of a demolition protocol for the specific building had been pending since January 1997.
The authorities have examined over 50 illegal buildings in the coastal zone and in forest areas along the Athens-Sounio coastline, while demolitions in the area of Grammatiko, eastern Attica, are in progress.
Moreover, demolitions of illegal buildings obstructing water courses in Mandra are expected to start shortly.
