Hanks & Wilson deny having pledged $1 million for Antiparos
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson have characterized reports that they have donated one million dollars to Antiparos, as untrue.
In particular, Tom Hanks's wife made a post on Twitter, where she made clear that her husband had never donated 1 million euros for the archaeological work on the island of Despotiko near Antiparos, as many have written.
In fact, the press reports did not just report that Tom Hanks donated the excavations to Antiparos, but that his contribution would be honored by SNFCF.
Thus, Rita Wilson has decided to clarify that there is no donation of this sort, posting the following text:
"To all my dear Greek friends, this is a false story. @tomhanks and I have no idea who this person is.Tom will not be attending this event nor have we donated to any of these causes. Not sure why people would post something untrue. #stavrosniarchosfoundation Perhaps you can check?"
