- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Two people drowned when a ship carrying migrants sunk early Monday morning, just 50 meters from Turkey's western coast, near Bodrum, the Turkish coastguard announced.
Seventeen people on board the ship rescued and three managed to land on their own by swimming, according to the Turkish Coast Guard.
Two of them then died in the hospital, added the coastguard, which did not specify the nationalities of immigrants.
Rescue and search operations are continuing as there is a possibility that some passengers may be missing, again with the Coast Guard.
