EU Battle Group HELBROC on readiness

The ceremony celebrating the readiness status for EU Battle Group HELBROC for the first half of 2014 took place at the headquarters of 71st Airmobile Brigade in Nea Santa,, Kilkis prefecture, in the presence of Hellenic Chif of the Armed Forces General Staff Michael Kostarakos.
Also present at the ceremony were: The head of the Bulgarian Armed Forces, General Simeon Simeonov, as well as representatives of the chiefs of the armed forces of Romania, Cyprus, and the Ukraine.
It;s worth noting that Battle Group HELBROC was again put on readiness status in the second half of 2007, the first half of 2009, and the second half of 2011. Its next readiness rotations for the unit are programmed for the first half of 2016, and the first half of 2018.
The Balkan Battlegroup is a European Union battlegroup led by Greece. Originally referred to as HELBROC (an acronym for HELlas, Bulgaria, ROmania, Cyprus), it consists of military units from Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and Cyprus.
Helbroc is a short name of the countries (Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Cyprus) comprising the southern combat task force of the EU
