Α 60-year-old taxi driver who had been holed up since noon in his apartment on 10 Aeolou Street in Agios Dimitrios was arrested after an intervention by counter-terrorist unit EKAM, just before midnight.
The 60-year-old had come out on the balcony of the apartment and shot twice with a pistol. He then locked himself into the apartment on the first floor, and refused to surrender.
After lengthy negotiations, he eventually came to the balcony and threatened to commit suicide, but EKAM personnel managed to stop and disarm him. The 60-year-old was taken to Attica Security, which is investigating the incident.
