Search operations are underway for a second day in the Patras gulf to locate a single-engine two-seater private airplane, which, as reported yesterday afternoon to the Authorities, fell into the sea area of Kryoneri, between Messolonghi and Antirrio.
There are six coast guard vessels, a helicopter and a fishing boat, as well as a unit of divers conductingthe search. As the Mesolonghi Air Club informed the coast guard, the aircraft, operated by a 47-year-old, had taken off from Messolonghi airport for Patras and was scheduled to return. From the search so far, a small oil slick has been identified in the sea area.
