The battle against cancer since 2017

For nearly two years Themis Anastasiadis gave an unknown to the general public - and, unfortunately, unequal - battle with cancer.

In September 2017 he was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive form of cancer. The well-known journalist and publisher was initially hospitalized in Zurich, Switzerland. He then went to the United States and specifically to one of the best known and most specialized clinics in the world: The famous Dana Farber Clinic in Boston.

There, Themos Anastasiadis underwent intensive and aggressive treatment. Nevertheless, he stood up and his body was able to withstand it. However, a few months later the cancer reappeared. Themos Anastasiadis continued therapy in Zurich, where he stayed permanently, but the battle was going against him. In the last five months his health has been steadily worsening and had deteriorated dramatically over the past two months. Until the illness finally killed him him on Tuesday, January 22nd, he left his last breath at the Swiss hospital, just 61 years old.
