Lanthimos truly grateful to academy for nominations

Giorgos Lanthimos thanked the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, for "honoring" "The Favorite"so generously today," referring to the 10 nominations for an Academy Award for his film.
"Having felt somewhat like an outside observer looking inside, I am really grateful for today's nominations. It is an essential honor for all those involved in the creation of "The Favorite", the talented collaborators and the incredible cast, led by Olivia Colman, Rachel Weis and Emma Stone ", added the Greek director at Entertainment Weekly.
"The Favorite" by Giorgos Lanthimos, which comes to screens on February 7, "swept" the nominations for this year's Oscars. He is a candidate for the following categories: Best Film, Best Director, Original Screenplay, Artistic Direction, Photography, Best Editing for Giorgos Mavrosparidis, Costumes, Lead female Role for Olivia Colman and Double Candidate for Female supporting actress for Emma Stone and Rachel Weis .
