Turkish press on Tsipras visit

Featured Turkish press on Tsipras visit

Some of the headlines of the Turkish press dote on the possibility of resolving bilateral disputes through dialogue without missing references to issues of interest to Ankara, such as the eight officers or the rights of the Muslim minority in Thrace.

Typical is Hurriyet's headline title and key theme: "We can solve issues through dialogue." While Cumhuriyet argues in its own title: "The Theological School to be exchanged for the Muftis," referring to the religious leaders of the Muslim minority jn Thrace.

"The job of politics is to make friends, not enemies," Aksam highlighted on its front page. "Demand the Guilenists from Tsipras," says Gunes. "Do not be a refuge for terrorists," says Sabah's front page.

Yeni Safak's headline notes: "Do not become a haven for terrorists. In the subtitles of its main subject, the same newspaper mentions Tsipras' call for a joint fight against terrorism, which Erdogan has also called for. But it also refers to the Greek prime minister's speech, quoting that we can solve problems through communication.

The headlines of newspaper Star are not far from the above: "Greece should not become a terrorist shelter." Turkyie's headline is even more aggressive: "Extradite the FETO Traitors".

Yenicag focuses on another issue: "A surprise statement by Tsipras: A Confederate Cyprus should take its place as a normal EU state." Akit's title is more descriptive: "Erdogan received Tsipras in the Presidential Palace."

Finally, the title of YenBirlik is optimistic: "Erdogan: I think we can solve the issues between us."
