SYRIZA candidate MEP condemned for defrauding authorities

SYRIZA's candidate MEP Myrsini Loizou, was illegally receiving after her mother's death for 69 months and was sentenced in 2017 to two years' imprisonment with a three-year suspension.
According to decision 905 of the Athens Three-Member Appeals Court of 28 February 2017, Myrsini Loizou "forgot" to declare the death of her mother and illegally received € 52,000 for 69 months. Until today, Ms. Loizou has paid nothing and with the surcharges she owes the total amount of 94,000 euros.
In May 2019 Mrs Loizou will again be tried for tax offenses.
