Turkish traffickers arrested in Corfu for transporting migrants to Italy

Authorities in Corfu proceeded to the arrest of Turkish nationals for trafficking and smuggling.
Specifically, as reported by AMNA, the arrest of three foreign nationals of Turkey (aged 69, 42, and 37 years) was carried out by officials of the Corfu and Othonoi Port Authorities, when they searched in a maritime area offshore. spotting the US flagged "ANGELO BIANCO", they identified the three foreigners who were suspected of illegally transporting third-country nationals from the Turkish coast to the Italian coast.
A European arrest warrant was issued for the traffickers
The vessel was driven, with the assistance of two Coast Guard patrol boats, to the port of Corfu, where, following a thorough investigation, in cooperation with the Directorate of Security and Protection of the Sea Borders, the Italian authorities and the international rescue centers in Piraeus, vessel and crew were responsible for an incident involving the illegal transport of 43 third-country nationals to Lecce, Italy, with a European arrest warrant issued for the traffickers.
From the Corfu Central Port Authority which is conducting a preliminary investigation, the above three foreigners were arrested and the boat was seized.
