Tsipras: National unity our strongest weapon against Turkish provocation
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras on Monday accused the government and particularly Citizen Protection Minister Michalis Chrissohoidis and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis of transforming the meaning of safety to insecurity, of legality and order to "terror and repression".
In an interview with ANT1 TV, the main opposition leader said that "safety is not a conservative meaning but something very important for democracy and every citizen should feel safe, inside and outside home. Safety is also the social security; safety is a progressive not a conservative meaning".
On Turkey's provocative stance, Tsipras expressed his concern noting that "our strongest weapon against the Turkish provocation is the national unity and consensus".
