Pirates capture 8 sailors, including five Greeks off Cameroon

Pirates proceeded to kidnapping eight sailors, including five Greeks, from the Greek tanker "HAPPY LADY", which was moored 2 nm from the port "LIMBOH" in Cameroon, following an attack this morning.
There were 28 crew members aboard. Among the abductees there still two Filipino nationals and one Ukrainian national, while one Greek national was injured in the incident. Immediately, as soon as the incident was reported to the Operations Center of the Hellenic Coast Guard and the competent services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were informed.
From the first moment, Minister of Maritime and Island Policy Yiannis Plakiotakis was briefed, who instructed the competent Directorates of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to closely monitor the matter in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the managing company.
