Entrepreneurship returns to Piraeus

Featured Entrepreneurship returns to Piraeus

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Piraeus officially confirms the improved and optimistic image of the Chamber of Commerce-member companies based in the city of the big port of Piraeus and the wider area, as well as the islands of Saronic Gulf, Kythera, Lavreotiki of West Attica.

Regarding the balance of enrollments and deletions at the Chamber's roster, 2019 was another year with a positive sign with an additional 596 businesses. Specifically, from 1/1/19 to 31/12/19, 888 companies were registered with the Chamber, 840 of which were start-ups. In 2019 we had 327 companies that were liquidated, converted their legal form or relocated, while 244 of them permanently discontinued, terminated or merged.

3: 1 ratio of record-deletions in the register and, in particular, the 4: 1 ratio of 'start-ups' to 'closures' at the register, reasonably creates favorable prospects for the new financial year. Entrepreneurship in Piraeus will start booming in 2020 and is expected to grow dramatically in the new year, following the evolution of the first port in the Mediterranean and the primacy port of Greek shipping. The Commerce Chamber also launches the year with a plethora of scheduled workshops and international forums, in view of the international marine exhibition "Posidonia 2020".

It is also stepping up its efforts to support and grow family businesses, but also all types of businesses in commerce, industry, shipping, logistics and services. At the same time, it is focusing its interventions on the achievement of all investments, as well as on expediting the flagship projects for the benefit of entrepreneurship in its areas of responsibility.
