Featured New Cavusoglu provocation: Aegean islands with indefinite sovereignty

Another provocative statement was made by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu during a three-hour televised interview.

According to SKAI, Mevlut Cavusoglu, just 24 hours before the Berlin Conference on Libya, chose to refer again to the Greek islands. The Turkish Foreign Minister claimed that "there are islands the sovereignty of which has not been established, neither in the Treaty of Lausanne, nor in the 1948 Peace Treaty."

Cavusoglu added that "this is why we are seeking exploratory contacts to resolve these issues. In order for a crisis not to happen again, ”he said, referring to Cardak (Imia).

Among other things, Turkey's FM also spoke about the EastMed gas pipeline, stressing that Greece, Cyprus and Israel "should get our permission as it passes through our shelf. This work cannot be done without Turkey's approval," he said.
