Health Minister Vasilis Kikilias visited checkpoint 1 in Kastanies near the Greek-Turkish border in Evros on Tuesday, after his visit to the Evros University General Hospital in Alexandroupolis.
"We will prevail," he said referring to the twin migration and coronavirus crises that have hit the country.
"The country has to deal with two fronts, one on our border with the migration issue and a pandemic, a very serious public health problem. We are very proud of our [men and women] here from the army, police, fire brigade, as we are very proud of our doctors, nurses, paramedics, our ambulance service rescuers. We will prevail. The way the country has come together in the face of these major and very serious crises is impressive and makes us very proud," the minister said.
