- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The days-old roe deer that was found with a broken leg by hunters on Mt Paiko and was sent to Arcturos wildlife shelter has found company as another newborn female roe deer found in a bush at a farm in the village of Koboti in Arta has also been transferred to Arcturos.
The female roe deer was named Mata, after a friend and supporter of Arcturos organisation, and is in good health. If everything goes smoothly it will released back into the wild along with Thomas, the other roe deer, next year.
Both animals will remain at Arcturos veterinary clinic at Agrapidies for a few weeks and afterwards they will be transferred to a fenced-off area of forest.
