Tourism Min Theoharis presents plan to support Greek tourism

"We have a plan to support Greek tourism. We will make use of all opportunities, but in compliance with health rules," Tourism Haris Theoharis said in Parliament. Speaking during the debate on Monday evening, he presented the main points of the plan, noting that it was not possible to make comparisons with last year.
The main points of the plan, according to the minister, are the following:
* On the health front, protocols are being drawn up for hotels, marinas, yachting, tourist coaches, airplanes, etc. These are realistic, the minister said, adding that the conditions will be such that the neither the health of local residents and visitors nor the reputation of destinations will be endangered.
* In financial terms, specific and cost-effective packages will be prepared this week, in cooperation with the Finance, Development and Labour ministries.
* Diplomatic moves will be needed to secure support from other countries, since Greece will be ready to receive tourists but if the German, Russian government or US governments place those returning from Greece in quarantine, then no tourists will come.
* Promoting Greece through a campaign that will be ready in the coming weeks.
* Strengthening contacts with tour operators and international media.
