Elizabeth, the female wolf who was rescued by the Arcturus Emergency Operations Team when she was found impailed a fence in Kastanas, Thessaloniki, about 3 months ago, will not be able to return to her natural environment.
The wolf will join the Wolf's Shelter in Agrapidies, Florina, as, according to an announcement, "she could not overcome an orthopedic problem that she suffered the day she was injured, as a result of which she could not press her leg very well."
"Although the problem is not very serious, it does not allow her to run and hunt without interruption, with the result that her reintegration is not a safe choice for herself and for people, since she will not be able to join a herd and therefore her reduced mobility would force her to approach residential areas to find food more easily, ” Arcturus said.
