Turkish tanks in Edirne - New war rhetoric from Erdogan

Featured Turkish tanks in Edirne - New war rhetoric from Erdogan

Erdogan continues to provoke, despite the dilemma of "de-escalation or sanctions" posed by the EU, in view of the extraordinary summit on September 24th and 25th. The war atmosphere was also triggered by the information about the gathering of Turkish armor, however, as it became known later, these are returns from Syria.

According to the Turkish agency Anadolu, the transport of tanks is a planned activity of the second army, based in Malatya, and it is not transportation of troops to the border with Greece. Earlier, however, Turkish media reported that Turkey was sending 40 tanks from Syria to Evros, specifically to Edirne.

Turkish media, including the websites Cumhuriyet and Haberler, reported that two truck convoys started from the Turkish-Syrian border transporting tanks to the port of Alexandretta, from where they will then be transferred to a train to Edirne. They even said that the armor came from the areas of Hatay, Reihanli, and Kumlu, on the border with Syria.

New threats from Erdogan
At the same time, they commented that "the mission of the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and the Greek soldiers in Kastelorizo was the drop that overflowed the glass". The official position, however, that was transmitted by the Anadolu agency, is that this is a planned action that is not related to the Greek-Turkish crisis. At the same time in Athens, military sources reported that a significant number of Turkish tanks were transported in recent months from the Greek-Turkish border to Syria, as part of operations there, and are now returning to their positions.

A few hours earlier, however, during his speech at the opening of a hospital, Erdogan launched a new attack and new threats against Greece, always against the background of the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean. "They will soon understand that Turkey has the political, economic, and military power to tear the maps imposed on it," the "neo-sultan," said, adding: "Either they will understand it politically, or they will experience it painfully on the battlefield.". Along with the war cries, the now well-known Turkish "tale" that Ankara sends the message everywhere that it is ready to "share what is fair" continued.
