Dead are a 45-year-old crane operator a father of three children, a 43-year-old and a 55-year-old father of three children. The 32-year-old who was seriously injured was transported to the hospital of Chalkida and has escaped the danger.

According to ERT, the accident happened while two technicians were on the pole and were touching the power cables. The crews that arrived at the spot together with the Fire Service were faced with very grim images. One technician was found dead on the PPC pillar, while the other three had fallen on the road. Both dead and one seriously injured.

According to the same source, the first estimates for the accident in Evia speak of human error as the electricity was not cut off despite the fact that the works were in progress. The investigation now focuses on the reason that there was no power outage throughout the network to ensure that there were no power lines during the work and who is responsible. At the same time, an investigation into the incident is being conducted by a DEDHE committee.

It is noted that the contractor company, in an announcement, said that from the first moment its representatives rushed to the area to be informed about the causes and conditions of the accident and are in full cooperation with the competent authorities. It expressed its commitment to stand by the families of the victims and the injured.
