Figures released hours after an unprecedented announcement on Tuesday by the Greek government, imposing a 100-euro per month fine on unvaccinated citizens over the age of 60 in the country, show a tripling in the number of daily appointments booked for a Covid-19 vaccination.
The average over the past 10 days was roughly 2,600 appointments for a first-dose vaccination. However, after announcement by Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis before a Cabinet meeting, the number exceed 6,000 on the day.
