Ministry of Shipping: Digital navigation services in all ports through epilotage.hcg.gr

Featured Ministry of Shipping: Digital navigation services in all ports through epilotage.hcg.gr

The Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy is proceeding with the immediate activation of the digital platform http://epilotage.hcg.gr, through which all navigation procedures in all ports of the country are automated, by decision of the competent Minister Giannis Plakiotakis.

"A new, digital era begins for the provision of navigation services in Greek ports", stressed Mr. Plakiotakis, "since, with the development of an integrated digital information system, the whole process from the departure - arrival of the ship, to the collection of navigation rights."

The Minister expressed his satisfaction for the immediate activation of the platform, which was created exclusively through the cooperation of the Navigation Service Directorate with the e-Government and Communications Directorate of the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy.

The platform will be able to draw and exchange data through an interface with third party systems and in particular with:

-Safeseanet

-National Single Shipping Box

-AIS service of YNANP / DAN

-Marine Traffic

As clarified by the ministry, the purpose of the project is the direct communication and therefore the best and most effective cooperation between the administration and operator of each port - naval agent - ship - navigation station - navigator - port authority, both in the information and in the payment of navigation rights.

The most important benefits of activating the platform are the automatic creation of digital documents, the automatic sending of documents by e-mail to the recipient (customer), the digital storage of electronic documents, the possibility of proving the validity of the sender and the content of the electronic price , the guarantee of authenticity of the documents, the automatic verification of the documents, the saving of time (indicatively it is mentioned that in 2021 approximately 17,000 navigations were carried out), the increase of the productivity, the reliable provision of services and absolute transparency.
