Serious problems in Volos due to the storm - Palamas (Karditsa) on alert
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
It was another difficult night for Volos after the city and wider area were hit by the second catastrophic natural disaster in 20 days, adding to accumulated problems from floods, mud, damaged infrastructure and the despair of thousands of people in the city and its suburbs.
The power was back for most of the coastal city on Friday morning but the suburbs and the villages in Pelion were still without electricity as fallen electricity poles had completely knocked out the local network.
In the city of Volos and in the suburbs of Agria and Alykes, residents were trying to recover from the sweeping flood that destroyed houses, businesses and cars, while entire districts were once again submerged in mud after yet another devastating storm hit the prefecture for a second time in less than a month.
On alert in the municipality of Palamas, Karditsa
