Chania: 67-year-old German hiker found dead

In particular, as reported by flashnews.gr, the fire rescue forces from Kampano, Chania and 3rd EMAK, who were searching all night for the 67-year-old, found him unconscious in a ravine near the beach of Sendoni.

According to information, on Sunday the 67-year-old left the hotel - where he was staying with his wife - for a hike and in the early afternoon he called her from his mobile phone to ask for help as he was allegedly injured.

The woman informed the Kampanou fire department and then - after a relevant consultation - the 67-year-old called the number 112 so that the rescuers could locate him.

This was followed by the mobilization of rescue teams with the firefighters going to the area and looking for him throughout the night as, as it appeared, he moved and did not stay at the place where his mobile phone had been located.

Finally, at dawn, he was found unconscious in a ravine above Sendoni beach and due to the particularly difficult area, a helicopter was called to transport him.
