Rhodes honors British couple for loyalty

Featured Rhodes honors British couple for loyalty

A British couple who have visited the Greek island of Rhodes over 100 times has been awarded the municipality's highest honorary distinction, a platinum plaque.

Alexander and Gail Conn have been travelling to Rhodes since the 1990s, visiting the island four to five times each year.

Their deep love for the island has led them to forge lifelong friendships with locals, including businessman Michalis Diakoulas, who accompanied them at the award ceremony.

The couple has always stayed at the Lindos Blue Sky hotel and has now decided to purchase a home on the island due to their frequent visits.

"Rhodes is the choice of our hearts and souls, and this is the Rhodes we want to share with our fellow countrymen," said Alexander and Gail Conn, expressing their gratitude to the Deputy Mayor for Culture and Tourism, Giorgos Toppos, for the honour bestowed upon them.

The award recognizes the couple's unwavering commitment to Rhodes and their contribution to the island's tourism industry.

Their dedication to the island serves as an inspiration to others and highlights the enduring appeal of Rhodes as a destination for visitors from around the world
