Turk wanted by Interpol for contract killings arrested in Athens

As reported by protothema.gr, the countdown to the 39-year-old's arrest began when DIAS police officers driving around Karaiskaki Square noticed a luxury SUV with three occupants moving suspiciously and wanted to check it. The car stopped and the check began.

What initially raised alarm bells among the police was the discovery of a cache under the trunk of the vehicle, inside which was a second pair of foreign license plates, from the Dutch authorities. That's how they began to understand that something was wrong.

The revelation came when they requested the details of the three passengers (all from Turkey) and entered them into the service terminal. Then they found that against one of them, the 39-year-old, there was a red Interpol notice with the indication “Murder”.

After that, the man was arrested and transferred to the Omonia Police Station. According to police sources, the investigation revealed that the 39-year-old was accused of a contract for death for hire and was wanted internationally.

A relevant case file was formed, while the competent prosecutor was also informed about the further steps.
