Alternate Finance & Economy Minister Nikos Papathanasis and Premier of Ontario Doug Ford attended the Toronto Economic Forum on Thursday.
The forum promotes economic relations between Greece and Canada. Participants include leaders from key sectors in Greece and Canada, and its aim is to expand collaboration in strategic sectors.
In his address, Papathanasis focused on investment opportunities and prospects of collaboration in tourism, energy, technology and communications, and real estate development, among others. Greece is now an attractive country for investments, and has one of the best economic performances in Europe, he said.
The forum is organized by the Delphi Economic Forum in partnership with The Hellenic Initiative-Canada and in association with Canada-Greece Chamber of Commerce and the Hellenic-Canadian Board of Trade.
Toronto is home to several diaspora communities playing an active role in the city's life, with one of them being the Greek Canadian community.
