Evia: Murder for a house bought at foreclosure auction

A close friend of the 50-year-old electrician spoke to Eviathema.gr.  Among other things, he said that the victim “was a hard worker, had four children, was successful in his profession and had never given any cause.”

“There were no differences between them”
Regarding the incident and what happened, the friend of the 50-year-old stressed: “I don’t know what happened between them, he didn’t tell me anything that there was any difference between them. He came to get the remote for the garage door and (the 75-year-old) took out the gun and shot him at point-blank range.”

The unfortunate man, a father of four, was particularly well-liked in the local community and professionally renowned.

According to the testimony, the 50-year-old had acquired the house where the 75-year-old lived through an auction. On the day of the tragic incident, he went there to ask for a remote control for the garage door. Without any prior tension, the old man grabbed his gun and shot him in cold blood four times.

Immediately afterwards, the perpetrator re-entered the house and committed suicide, leaving behind an image of absolute horror. The shock in the Mytikas community is profound. No one expected that a financial dispute would end in tragedy. Residents speak of a man in despair, but not capable of such an act.

The authorities continue the investigation, while shortly after 10:00 p.m. a forensic doctor arrived at the scene. The full report and statements from relatives are expected, in order to complete the picture of the crime.

What the victim's brother says
"My brother bought a house at auction, today the 75-year-old called him to give him the keys. When my brother got there, the perpetrator appeared and shot him in the back with a pistol, three times in the back and once in the head, and then he committed suicide. "As far as I know, my brother had never spoken to the perpetrator before, it was the first time they met," the brother of the 50-year-old victim emphasized, on eviaonline.gr.
