- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
After five years of successive interim administrations, legal battles and one annulment of the administration, on Thursday, April 3, the process of electing a new regular administration in the Hellenic American Union was completed.
In the election process, Dr. Leonidas Tzonis, until recently Vice President of the Hellenic American Union, prevailed overwhelmingly and was elected the new president of the Hellenic American Union over Mr. Leonidas Koskou, former president of the interim administration.
The new Board of Directors was formed on the same day and is taking over the management of the organization, preparing the ground for its dynamic course in the days to come.
It is worth noting that in 2027 the Hellenic American Union will celebrate 70 years of presence and contribution to Greek society, as it was founded in 1957 on the initiative of 25 personalities, including Elias Venezis, Nikos Hadjikyriakos, Gokas and Xenophon Zolotas.
The President of the Hellenic American Union, Dr. Leonidas Tzonis, stated: “My election to the presidency of the Hellenic American Union is for me the highest honor and responsibility. With the members of the new Administration, we aim for a dynamic renewal of the organization. We are committed that the Hellenic American Union will continue – with transparency – to be a pillar of development in education, training and culture for the next generations. With respect for the past and a vision for tomorrow, we plan to reposition it in the modern era.”
The Hellenic American Union, as a non-profit organization, is distinguished for its activity in the field of language certification, lifelong learning and professional training, while at the same time it has demonstrated a significant contribution in the field of culture.
