Two Turks are in police custody for yesterday's shootings against National Security Agency - EYP agents in Thermi, Thessaloniki.
They are the owner of the car from which the shootings originated and his roommate.
The chronicle of the attack
The serious incident took place around 4 pm on Tuesday inside a gas station.
Three Turks stopped in a silver jeep at the gas station to fill up with gas. The car, as well as a motorcycle, with the EYP men stopped a little further away. As soon as the Turkish driver noticed them, he immediately moved towards them. He approached their car, took a gun from his belt and started shooting. The vehicle with the officers managed to escape and there were no injuries from the shootings. The Turk then ran to his car, started it and the silver jeep disappeared.
The perpetrators opened fire outside the gas station and miraculously no EYP officers or passing citizens were injured.
The incident is being examined as particularly serious by the Organized Crime police and constitutes a dangerous escalation on the part of the Turkish mafia, which is behind more than ten murders in Greece since September 2023.
