- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
An infant found abandoned in a supermarket trolley in central Athens has been placed in protective care, police said.
After the baby was discovered alone near the Acropolis and taken to a local police station, a woman arrived claiming to be the mother.
She told officers she had entrusted the child to a man while she was shopping, and he then disappeared with the baby.
Following a prosecutor's order, the infant was transferred to the Paedon Children’s Hospital for care. Authorities said an investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.
