A Dutch tourist who had been missing since Thursday was found dead in a 300-meter-deep gorge below the Beloi viewpoint in the Vikos Gorge, Zagori on Friday
A Fire Brigade drone team had been searching the entire area since early in the morning Friday. The search began yesterday afternoon when her husband called the emergency number 112 to report her disappearance.
The couple had been vacationing in the area with a camper van. Yesterday, they visited Beloi, and according to her husband, he lost sight of his 65-year-old wife within just a few minutes while she was taking pictures of the landscape.
The 5th EMAK (Special Disaster Response Unit) is now expected to descend into the gorge to recover the body of the tourist.
