Four additional MH-60 Romeos to join the Hellenic Navy

Four additional MH-60 Romeos are expected to join the Hellenic Navy’s helicopter fleet by April 2026, bringing the total number to seven.
With this arrival, two years after the delivery of the first three, the order placed by Greece to Lockheed Martin’s subsidiary Sikorsky is expected to be completed.
In October, a new squadron hangar will be inaugurated at the Kotroni naval air base, in east Attica, to accommodate the helicopters.
Experienced Hellenic Navy officers say that with every mission, the MH-60 confirm their reputation as the world’s top anti-submarine helicopters.
“The Americans use them to track nuclear submarines in the oceans, just imagine what they can do in the Aegean,” one officer said.
Moreover, the 1st Naval Helicopter Squadron is preparing for its Final Operational Capability (FOC) assessment, which will be completed following the delivery of the first FDI frigate.
This evaluation will subject the new aircraft to extensive trials and exercises.
