All the horror of the murder in Crete: He executed his son's friend with 6 bullets on his birthday, kicked his corpse
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
54-year-old Kostas Parasiris, who on Tuesday afternoon murdered the 21-year-old with six bullets and then surrendered, plunging Crete into mourning, has never forgiven 21-year-old Nikitas Gemistos for being the driver of the car in the traffic accident that claimed his son's life in 2023.
The indictment facing the perpetrator of the cold-blooded murder is serious, as criminal prosecution was brought against him for manslaughter in a calm mental state, while he also faces charges for aggravated possession of a firearm by complicity, illegal possession of ammunition, illegal use of a weapon and illegal possession of a weapon, according to neakriti.gr.
At the same time, criminal prosecution was also brought against his wife for simple complicity in homicide, as she was with him during the murderous attack. Both defendants were brought before the judicial authorities and were given a deadline to give their statements on Monday at 14:30.
The chronicle of the murder
However, this was not the first time that the 54-year-old had attempted to harm the 21-year-old. The previous times, however, the 21-year-old had managed to escape. But not on Tuesday afternoon. Kostas Parasiris was driving a Peugeot 206 while his wife was the passenger in the car and was driving on Papandreou Avenue in the Amoudara area of Heraklion. When he saw the red Opel Corsa driven by 21-year-old Nikitas Gemistos in the oncoming traffic, he rammed it.
The two drivers got out of their vehicles and the 21-year-old managed to kick Parasiris, who took out his revolver and shot him 6 times.
Nikitas fell to the ground covered in blood while the 54-year-old began to kick him.
According to an eyewitness, the perpetrator of the murder kicked the deceased 21-year-old twice.
Afterwards, Kostas Parasiris got back into his car and headed home with his wife. At 19:20 in the afternoon, they went to the Malevizi Police Station where the 54-year-old handed over his gun.
Gunpowder from the shooting was found in the 54-year-old's hands.
The authorities, who took over the case, immediately went to the scene of the murder where they found the dead 21-year-old and a 50-centimeter bloodstain about 6 meters away from his car.
After a police investigation, 250 cartridges were found in Kostas Parasiris' house, which he had illegally possessed.
The beginning in 2023
The beginning of evil was written on October 20, 2023 when the car driven by the young Nikitas crashed into a pillar outside the Pancretan Stadium, seriously injuring his best friend who was the passenger. The young man was taken to the hospital where he breathed his last on November 8, 2023. The deceased was the son of Kostas Parasiris.
The threats and the violation of the court decision
Since early November 2023, 54-year-old Kostas Parasiris could not forgive Nikitas for the evil that "hit" their family with the death of his son and allegedly had acted several times, from then until yesterday afternoon, against the family and specifically against the 21-year-old.
On July 24, 2024, the Gemistos family had filed a complaint with the Authorities. At that time, they had reported that both Kostas Parasiris and his wife were making threats against him.
A few months later, and specifically, on December 26, 2024, Nikitas again reported Kostas Parasiris for bodily harm and use of a weapon. The complaint resulted in the 54-year-old being arrested and the rifle he was in possession being confiscated.
The most recent incident between the two families occurred on March 4, 2026, when Nikitas Gemistos filed a complaint with the Malevizi Police Department against Kostas Parasiris for violating a court order.
He beat him with a stick while wearing a hood
On December 26, Kostas Parasiris, wearing a hood, approached Nikitas at 03:00 in the morning and hit him in the arms and legs, injuring him, while then shooting at his target, without hitting him. Nikitas' sister was an eyewitness to the incident, who identified the 54-year-old. Following a complaint filed by Nikitas, the 54-year-old was arrested during a traffic stop and a sample was taken from his hands to detect traces of gunpowder.
As part of the administrative sanctions, his shotgun was confiscated
which the 54-year-old legally possessed, while after being brought before the prosecutor, he was released.
He had violated the court terms
Following the lawsuit filed by the Gemistos family against Kostas Parasiris, restrictive conditions had been imposed on him by the court until the final hearing of the charges against him. Kostas Parasiris had violated the specific terms on March 4 and the young Nikitas had gone to the Police Department where he filed a new lawsuit.
The 54-year-old presented himself at the police station the same evening when he was arrested, while the next day, on March 5 in the morning, he was released following an oral order from the Public Prosecutor's Office and the case file against him was submitted to the Prosecutor's Office.
He killed him on his birthday
On May 5, 2026, Nikitas' life was cut short by the bullets of his best friend's 54-year-old father. The tragic irony is that on the same day Nikitas had his birthday. Born on May 5, 2005, yesterday he turned 21 years old and this day was destined to be his last.
