One of the report's findings is that Greeks place the greatest number of orders on Fridays, a stable trend in which Athens leads in Greece.

In terms of food, the most popular orders in 2025 were for coffee and souvlaki, exhibiting a working-hours/lounging-time bipole. As a matter of fact, Greece proved to be globally #1 in coffee orders through Wolt, confirming the timeless relationship Greeks have with their favorite beverage. After souvlaki orders, the top food categories include burgers, pizza, and Italian cuisine, with fairly high orders for sweets, Greek cuisine, and breakfast & brunch.
In the Wolt Market platform, orders always include bottled water, cheese, and soft drinks, reflecting basic daily needs.

During work hours, Greeks mostly order coffee, souvlaki, sandwiches, and pasta. On the contrary, evening and night food cravings include burgers, pizza, crepes, and sushi.

The most expensive delivery in Greece totaled 7,438.74 euros; the most distant order was 32 km away; and the closest, 100 meters away. The highest order from a restaurant totaled 1,150 euros, and in the grocery category 2,230 euros.

Wolt platform also allows customers to order several items beyond food, from electronics to beauty products, to pet shop items, and toys. The most popular retail categories include wellness products, pet food, tobacco products, and flowers - in which latter category the most popular items include roses, mixed bouquets, and tulips, Wolt's report said.
