- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The works of Greek American artist Christine Olga Smith, are being exhibited at the Greek Embassy at Abu Dhabi, giving Arab visitors another view of Greek landscapes.
The exhibition entitled "Compositions in the Greek Landscape 2014" comprises oil paintings showing Greek landscapes, especially from Argolida and the islands of the Saronic Gulf.
As she notes: “Having grown up in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, I feel strongly connected with the Arab culture and use my upbringing as a reference in my work. As a Greek-American I also found both countries’ heritage to be an un-bounding source of inspiration. My education in Design for Communication at Parsons School of Design (Paris & NY) has had a great influence on my work and design ethics. Aside from organizing exhibitions and designing for my business.”
The paintings exude their own vitality taking viewers to a magical trip of Greece.
The exhibition will take place until 5 June 2014.
