Golden Dawn's business with NGO it "hates"
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Extreme right wing Golden Dawn party decries and denounces almost everyone under the sun, especially against NGOs offering succor to migrants, there seems to be more than meets the eye.
Documents brought to the attention of parliament by deputy employment minister Vasilis Kegeroglou show without doubt that NGO Medecins du Monde has had commercial transactions to the tune of at least 24,969 euros with the firm of belonging to Golden Dawn MP Ilias Panagiotaros.
The invoices show that the NGO bought shampoos, soap, shower gels, and other goods from Panagiotaros, this at the same time as its members demonstrated in front of the NGO's offices and verbally abused its members and migrants it was aiding.
As Mr Kegeroglou noted: “The business called Golden Dawn is fooling even those that believe in it. At the same time that they give orders to attack the offices of Medecins du Monde, one of their deputies who is a businessman is also one of their suppliers.”
On Thursday, Golden Dawn members protested outside the Medecins du Monde offices in Perama, hurling racist verbal abuse at doctors and patients in the presence of small children.
What the deputy minister did not dot on was the fact that it would be nearly impossible for the NGO not to know who their supplier was, which begs the question what exactly the relationship is between them.
