Visa exchange program between Greece and Australia
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
A new Work and Holiday visa arrangement between Australia and Greece will be signed next week, during the Australian visit of the Greek Minister for Tourism Olga Kefalogianni.
The Work and Holiday Visa will be available to young people aged 18 to 30 from the two participating countries who want to travel and work in Australia for up to 12 months. It differs from a working holiday visa and requires the applicant to have the support of their government, hold or be studying for a tertiary qualification and to speak functional English.
Under the anticipated Work and Holiday Visa agreement, Australia and Greece will have a limit of 500 work and holiday visas for each country annually.
An Australian Work and Holiday visa is valid for 12 months from the date of first entry and holders are permitted to leave and re-enter Australia any number of times during this period.
Work and Holiday visa holders are entitled to work for up to 6 months with each employer and undertake up to 4 months of study or training.
