MARK pollsters released its findings on ALPHA TV, the last one before Sunday's elections, finding the SYRIZA lead at 3.6% over rivals New Democracy.
Nowadays in this country, one needs to take pre-election polls with a grain of salt. Since last Sunday's early exit polls were so unrepresentative of the final result, analysts and public alike are very cautious with their credibility.
Still, polls are the only tool left to get an idea about what might happen on Sunday night. Today is the last day of polling for both the European and the second round of local elections and MARK polling company released its findings on ALPHA TV.
Just like all the other polls released in the last few days, this one shows a clear SYRIZA lead in the European parliamentary elections. Its lead is by 3.6 points according to the poll conducted between May 20 and May 22.
SYRIZA gets 24.6%, New Democracy follows with 21% and the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn is in third place with 8.7%. Following are The River (6%), the Olive Coalition / PASOK (5.6%), the Communist party (5.5%), Independent Greeks (4%) and Democratic Left (2.4%).
SYRIZA is expected to win by 41.6% of those polled, while New Democracy is believed to be the winner by 38.3% of the participants. The majority (58.1%) of those polled want elections at the end of this government's term, while 35.1% want early elections.
