Deceased Policeman Gains Honorary Vote

Vasilis Martzaklis, the police officer that was murdered in an off-duty attempt to safeguard a citizen was also a candidate for municipal councilor for the municipality of Andravida-Kyllini with the ticket of Andreas Koromilas.
As a sign of respect, his name was not taken off the list and his fellow citizens honored the heroic officer with their vote.
In all 373 citizens cast their ballots in his name, honoring his sacrifice and his philosophy of life, as a citizen, an officer, a coach, and a fellow human being.
It was the least reward for the man that attempted to thwart a burglary, on 11 May, and was dealt a knife blow to the heart.
