Ecumenical patriarch in Greece

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew is paying a three-day visit to Athens, starting today.

At six in the afternoon, he will attend the screening of the film at Athens College, titled “Then the dead die, when they are forgotten”, which is about the Sisli Cemetery in Constantinople.

The event is organized to mark the completion of the restoration project of 40 graves at the Cemetery that are of special historical importance.

The event is under the auspices of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and the Greek Ministry of Culture.

Tomorrow, the Ecumenical Patriarch will meet the Archbishop of Athens and all of Greece, Ieronimos, while on Thursday he will sail to the island of Hydra for the first time, where at a special event he will be announced as an honorary citizen of the island.
