GD's Lagos Calls Fyssas Murder "Unfortunate Incident"
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Jailed Golden Dawn MP, Yannis Lagos described the brutal murder of Paul Fyssas as “an unfortunate and isolated incident,” in his additional deposition adding that he had neither any leading role nor any knowledge of the event.
Lagos compared the actions and the criminal acts of Golden Dawn with the excesses committed by hooligans of various football clubs and already complained to the investigating magistrateabout the persecution of Golden Dawn over the “unfortunate” murder of rapper Pavlos Fyssas.
“If an unfortunate event, such as the murder of a man, is cause to persecute members and the leaders of the third largest Greek party, what should be done with several football clubs which have held pre-arranged meetings to rumble, in which some have been killed and wounded? Should presidents of these clubs or board members go to prison?” he asked.
Yannis Lagos also argued that there is no evidence against him and to prove that Fyssas' murder was an unfortunate incident points to the fact that while he was head of Golden Dawn in Piraeus from 2006-2012 there was no significant crime in the area.
